Our villages on the French Riviera

The French Riviera

The sun, the mediterranean sea, the famous seaside resorts. The French Riviera is overflowing with treasure: the famous cities of Nice and the "Promenade des Anglais", Cannes and the Croisette, Antibes, Menton and the proximity of italy, but also the seaside of Saint-Jean-Cap-Ferrat, Mandelieu-la-Napoule, Juan les pins.

The hinterland, the "Niçois" inland and the area of Vence and Saint Paul de Vence, Mougins et Vallauris are unmissable.

The term French Riviera comes from "Côte d'Azur" that has been invented in 1887 by Stéphen Liégard in a book that was relating his voyage on the Provencal coast.

With the Italian border on the East, the " Alpes Maritimes", the "French Riviera" and the hinterland offer attractive touristic charms, renowned in the entire world, presenting a variety of landscape palette and Provencal cultures; indeed, apart from the prestigious Mediterranean coast, the area offers craggy landscape, hilly relief, some little roads snaking between the hills and the mountains, overhanging the sea, you will find there a Mediterranean vegetation, stone pines, cactus, thyme, olive trees.

The south Alps are meeting nearly the sea, and it is not unusual to be able on the same day to swim in the morning and ski in the afternoon!

The sunshine is pressant there 320 days per year.

It is so enjoyable to wander in the old Nice offering colourful facades, to take a walk in the flowers markets or on the old fishing harbour.

The fetes are also famous: Nice carnival, the lemon festival of Menton, the Jazz events in Juan les Pins, and the festival of Cannes .
