Sillans la Cascade

- History and heritage :

Apart from the monumental construction of the Saint-Laurent district, no remains have been discovered to date that would allow us to define a permanent occupation of the land in prehistoric times.
Roman occupation is attested to in the plain by the numerous traces of habitation found at Bastidon, Saint-Barnabé and La Mude. The place is then located not far from the Roman road going from Fréjus to Riez.
In the 18th century, the Marquis Boniface Hippolithe de Castellane rebuilt the whole of this magnificent building. It was bought and renovated by the commune in 2007.
